Kai Jones -
Jones was signed to the Mavericks on a two-way deal in early March and played one game before missing an extended period due to injury. Since returning, he’s had back to back serviceable performances with minutes in the mid 20s. The Mavericks are dealing with a plethora of injuries at the moment, and Jones should continue to get plenty of run as the team’s starting center.
The Mavericks have one of the best schedules this week with a Monday/Tuesday back to back and 4 games in 6 nights Monday-Saturday. Kai Jones is one of my favorite schedule adds going into Monday and provides a traditional big man stat profile with outlier efficiency from the field.
Scotty Pippen Jr -
Pippen is easily inside the top 50 for 9 cat over the last 2 weeks. Although he’s largely benefited from the absence of Ja Morant, he has also had several great games playing alongside Ja in this stretch as he’s earned favorability in the Memphis rotation once again.
His fantasy ranking is being carried by 9 straight games with double digit steals while contributing across the board in other categories. The status of Morant’s health remains unclear, but I would consider an add regardless, as he’s still been productive enough to not be burning an add if Morant is back next game.
Ryan Dunn -
Ryan Dunn has been the biggest beneficiary of Beal's absence and is playing the best basketball of his career at the moment. He’s started the last 5 games averaging 1.8 SPG & 1.0 BPG, profiling as a top tier defensive stats streamer. Assists are his weakest category, but Dunn really provides value across the board and can easily fit onto any fantasy team.
Dunn’s shooting was made out to be his biggest weakness coming out of college, but he disproved that from the very start of the season. He has nailed 2+ threes in every game since entering the starting lineup. He’s been able to scale up usage throughout Beal’s absence which is also unexpected.
I think we already know the ceiling of Ryan Dunn as a player, but it’s more than likely we will be discussing him in the context of fantasy basketball for the next decade for the unique stat set he can provide.
Trey Lyles -
Domantas Sabonis is out for this week at least and possibly even more time after that. Jonas Valanciunas has been starting in his place but Trey Lyles has also been offering playable lines off the bench as the Kings center preference seems to flip game by game.
It can be risky to stream Lyles on a game by game basis with the uncertainty of the minute balance between him and Valanciunas, but if you’re looking long term, the value is likely to even itself out. The Kings start the week out with a Monday/Tuesday back to back and 4 games in 6 nights Monday-Saturday making Lyles one of the best options for a bulk stream.
Justin Edwards -
The entire 76ers roster is in flux nightly, making it difficult to pick an option for streaming from their plethora of candidates. We’ve cycled through many of fringe players in Philadelphia, but Justin Edwards seems to be the name rising to the top as of late.
Edwards has been in and out of conversations of standard league relevancy. I’m not convinced he’s someone you can hold and forget about, hence why he’s the last name appearing on my weekly adds board, but the last 3 games are hard to ignore. The 76ers play 4 games this week and end on a Saturday/Sunday back to back and I’m excited to see if this trend of strong play can continue.
