NBA Fantasy Basketball Week 6 Preview | Thanksgiving Week
NBA Fantasy Basketball Streaming Strategy
Welcome to Week 6, Thanksgiving week, which brings a lighter NBA schedule and some unique opportunities for sharp fantasy managers.
Schedule Breakdown
Thanksgiving week means only six days of NBA action. There are zero games on Thursday. Here’s the layout:
Monday: 10 games
Tuesday: 3 games
Wednesday: 9 games
Thursday: 0 games
Friday: 11 games
Saturday: 8 games
Sunday: 8 games
That gives you six playable days and makes each waiver move matter even more as you hunt for fantasy volume.
Games Played: Sweet Spot Teams
This week, the Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards play only two games each. Ten teams play four times: Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, and Toronto Raptors.

Quality Game Days and Streaming
My guy Josh Lloyd from Locked on Fantasy Basketball defines a “quality game” as one with 10 NBA games or fewer, maximizing the odds that your streamed player cracks your starting lineup. In Week 6, your quality game days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Key streaming teams are the Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, and Toronto Raptors. Each of these teams has four games entirely on quality days, which substantially boosts the value of their third and fourth options.
Orlando and Washington, with only two games each and both on Friday, a heavy-volume night, have only one quality streaming day.
Weekly Streaming Strategy
There are no Monday-Tuesday or early-week back-to-backs. The best move is to chain single-day streams at the front of the week:
Monday: Add your first streamer
Tuesday: Stream a new player
Wednesday: Stream again
With Thursday dark and Friday too crowded, pivot to teams with a Saturday-Sunday back-to-back: Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, Toronto Raptors.
If you are playing on ESPN (seven moves), you can run two streaming slots and potentially squeeze out nine games. In Yahoo or four-move setups, five games is the maximum you’ll get out of one spot.
Focus on four-game volume, smart streaming, and watching for injury returns to get ahead of the field in this short NBA week. Use these verified names and teams to keep your fantasy roster sharp and your advantage strong.
Good luck this Thanksgiving week and happy holidays!
