Cason Wallace/Alex Caruso
With injuries to Jalen Williams and Isaiah Joe, playing time and usage has been freed up at the Shooting Guard/Small Forward positions to begin the season. OKC plays on low volume days Tuesday and Thursday, making them valuable pickups this week. Personally, I would give Cason Wallace the edge over Alex Caruso as it is expected that Wallace will play more minutes, thus presenting more opportunity for counting stats.
Rui Hachimura
Rui looks to be the 5th starter alongside Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, Jake LaRavia and DeAndre Ayton for the LA Lakers. Being part of one of the few teams playing both Tuesday and Thursday this week, Hachimura has desirable, added value on these low volume days.
Jaylen Wells
Jaylen Wells is going to have a lot of fantasy managers’ eyes on him in his increased role to start the season. The sophomore will have to step in the place of guards Scotty Pippen Jr. and Ty Jerome, who are both out with multi-week injury timelines. Wells displayed impressive scoring potential in his preseason outings, and could be a bright spot in the Grizzlies’ lineup out the gate.
Grayson Allen
With Jalen Green missing Opening Night with a hamstring injury, the Phoenix Suns confirmed that Grayson Allen will be the fill-in starting Shooting Guard. Grayson is an elite 3-point shooter and a pesky defender, making him a decent bet for diverse fantasy production in an increased role.
