Explaining that he uses Hashtag Basketball’s rest-of-season projections, BLEAV In Fantasy Basketball host Robbin Marx lists the top 50 basketball players in fantasy 9-CAT leagues (as well as the 10 players just on the outside). He then adjusts the list manually to show which players are currently in the top 50 for points scored so far this season.
The S-tier begins with the unsurprising group of Nikola Jokic, SGA, Luka Doncic, and Wembanyama, but the host is stunned when projections place Austin Reeves at No. 5, reacting with, “What? Where they do that at?” The rest of the S-tier includes Giannis, Maxey, Harden, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Anthony Edwards. The A-tier (11–20) includes Kawhi Leonard, Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, Donovan Mitchell, and a surprisingly high Zach Edey at No. 15, prompting the host to say “you do not belong in the S tier, guy.” Players such as Curry, Jamal Murray, Devin Booker, and Şengun round out the top 20.
Through ranks 21–40, he lists names like Lauri Markkanen, Derrick White, Jalen Brunson, Evan Mobley, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler, Josh Giddey, De’Aaron Fox, Desmond Bane, Deni Avdija, Chet Holmgren, Domantas Sabonis, and Trae Young. The bottom ten (41–50) feature Kevin Durant, Pascal Siakam, Bam Adebayo, Ryan Rollins, Kristaps Porziņgis, Jalen Duren, Jalen Williams, Keegan Murray, Tyler Herro, and Kon Knueppel. Discussing players outside the projected top-50 — LaMelo Ball, Julius Randle, Amen Thompson, Cooper Flagg, Brandon Ingram, and others — he decides to move LaMelo into the top 50 “because he’s 49 right now in the actual rankings,” removing Knueppel. He also swaps Julius Randle in and Ryan Rollins out.
Finally, he cleans up the tiers, pushing Edwards, Towns, Harden, and Reeves out of S-tier, saying “I’m not there yet” about Reeves, bumps down others like Zach Edey, raises Trae Young due to expected improvement, and ultimately adds MPJ to the top 50 after debating it by saying “is it gonna be an MPJ day?” before deciding yes.
